Drama
All boys from Transition to CE1 take part in Drama lessons at Hereward House.
In the Junior School, Transition and Form 1 enjoy ‘Creative Movement’ sessions once a week by a specialist Drama and Dance teacher. These lessons encourage creativity and imagination through storytelling, movement, drama/role-play, music and group dynamic.
Each class in the Junior School are also visited once a term by ‘Perform Drama’ who take the boys on a roller-coaster ride of imagination and fun.
The Michaelmas term for the Junior School ends with every boy taking part in a class production. For many boys it is the first time they get to act and sing in front of their family and friends.
In the Middle and Senior School, all boys continue to have Drama lessons once a week. Middle School boys take part in the Lent Plays and these productions are longer in length and give the boys a great chance to perform once more in front of a live audience. Senior School boys then have the opportunity to audition for the Senior School musical held biennially. Recent productions have included Bugsy Malone (2018), The Sound of Music (2016) and Oliver (2014)
All boys can also sign up for individual LAMDA lessons which take place during the school day on a one – one basis.
